more Brisbane wanderlust

226 Leichhardt St, Spring Hill

Instant fondness for cafes that uses Genovese
from the same owners of Foxy Bean at the Gabba is Holy Moly!

my usual smoked salmon with scrambled eggs
I think scrambled eggs is simply the best test for the quality of the food at a cafe
hardest thing to make right!

really digged the sauce for their eggs benedict

then love & I went wandering, went to see the new bookstore at Winn St
and found some interesting new shops have popped up !

Ash to Gold

A Brisbane designer!  A brand with a lot of potential.
Very cosmic wonder … I imagine their clothes will find their way into
the closets of fashion aficionados such as
Bleach Black or Fashion Toast …

ruffles, oh I love ruffles!
a smart VM idea that a lot of spaces are currently doing
this way it doesn’t matter if you don’t hide the guts of vents etc on the ceiling!

I love their attention to detail, how cool is this overlapping zigzag-y sleeve?

this shisha-esque phone actually works!

and what I love best about this boutique
(apart from the obviously cool clothes and display)
is that their staff was warm and genuine,

in my experience many of these alternative fashion labels /select stores hire
have such snooty, rude girls who can look you in the eye when you walk into the shop
and completely ignore you

pffft.

cool hanging perspex display

interesting colours!

will go back for some partay dresses soon : )

Ruby & Prankstar

the little leather and jewelry atelier that
is always closed whenever I happen by- luckily not this time !
behind the brand is Kristy Morgan,
her design is raw and inspired by rituals and mystic ceremonies,
employing skills she learnt working alongside various
cobblers, saddlers, lapidarists & silversmiths

a beautiful leather bounded portfolio
(so soft to touch I kept fondling it …)

their work reminds me of a little Pamela Love

I’ve frequented Sunday Social many times
but I’m not sure I’ve blogged about them!

a petit store carrying vintage goodies from the states,
a lot of granny dresses, bold felt hats in all colours imaginable,
occasionally more branded seconds like a black pair of Ferragamo flats
and the other day I just saw a cute corner with sailors outfits for babies!
