For those of us who love thrifting and vintage finds it tends to get quite frustrating as there isn’t much quality shops that can satisfy our collectors’ urge here in Brisbane
Until the other day we stumbled upon an enchanting little shop called Hobohemia
Opened for almost a year, Hobohemia is like a little museum showcasing remnants of time
from old biscuit tins, to ceramic doll heads
glamourous furry hats and frocks from the 1920′s
I could have spent hours in there!
With SUCH a clever name I might add!
‘Hobohemia’ usually describes is a low rent district in a city where artistic
bohemians, the down-and-outs or hobos mix!
: )
I’ve collected several cow / rabbit skulls myself!
We met the charismatic owner Lizzie Hilburger,
she told us stories of her buying trips around the world with her husband Mike
and even gave us great tips on where to find these huge antique fairs!
Thankyou so much for your hospitality, your fascinating store is a much needed treasure in Brisbane!
an old Taxi dial
gorgeous bold fonts on these wood blocks … !
plenty of loitering permitted here!
we had so much fun scavenging amongst all the oddities and treasures
loved their branding – an indie illustrative style by Laura Carney
